FU
A colleague of mine recently received a series of emails from an external contact. Each one had FU in the subject line, followed by our company name.
My colleague was bewildered after receiving the first one, especially since the message was pretty run-of-the-mill.
After a few moments, I realized the sender might be using FU as an abbreviation for Follow Up. Turns out I was right. It used to be a more common acronym, but—for good reason—it has largely been retired.
I have a family member who loves to make up acronyms; maybe sharpening my decoding skills will continue to come in handy in the workplace...
